The work is listed by the Bibliothèque Nationale and in Geymüller's monograph under title as: Vues d'optique

Library's copy contains 2 plates in 3 states, 7 plates in 2 states and the remainder in a single state, apparently containing examples of all of the 21 plates. (n.b. States 1 and 2 are distinguished by a diminuation of a cm. in diameter (ca. 17.8-18 or ca. 17 cm.) and the 3rd state is a re-engraving.)

Leaves have been consecutively numbered in pencil, with however the additional states of each numbered after the first appearance with that number whereever interspersed. States have also been annotated, not always correctly according to the descriptions of the BN and Geymüller. There are no leaves numbered 11 but there is a leaf 22 (in 2 states).
